Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), often referred to as Food Stamps, offers nutrition assistance to millions of eligible, low-income individuals and families and provides economic benefits to communities. SNAP is the largest program in the domestic hunger safety net. Participants receive food stamp reimbursements in the form of Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards that can be used at participating grocery stores, supermarkets and farmers markets.
In addition, CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion's SNAP Program strives to help participants become self-sufficient through job search/placement, training and education (GED, ESOL, Vocational Training), and/or work experience.
If you are interested in receiving help with your job-search efforts, participating in activities and receiving help to offset the cost of transportation, please contact the Department of Children and Families and CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion to establish eligibility.
