Training and Education Assistance

Upgrading your skills can lead to the right job

For many job seekers, finding the right job right now is the logical way to go. But if you are uncertain which job is right for you, or if you lack necessary credentials/experience, training may be a viable option to help reach your career goals.

If you are eligible, assistance may be available through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998. WIA governs job training, adult education and literacy and vocational rehabilitation. It is designed to streamline services, eliminate duplication of services and empower individuals to obtain the services and skills they need to become self-sufficient. WIA offers Core, Intensive and Training services to individuals who qualify. When you click on the Apply Online button below, you will be able to check for eligibility.

CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion can assist in matching your skills with jobs that are currently in demand. If additional training is required, we can help you understand your training options, including how to prepare for a career in one of the "Targeted Occupations" and how to develop a plan to succeed during and after training. Many times, we can help cover tuition and provide other needed assistance.

In addition to training assistance and one-on-one career counseling, CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion offers a full calendar of free employability workshops to help you develop a targeted resume, sharpen your interview skills, create an effective job search campaign and identify transferable skills.
